I uploaded a bunch of videos I’ve had sitting around on the computer here for awhile. There’s a couple videos of songs from the Tori Amos concert we went to the other night, a couple videos from Voodoo Fest down in New Orleans, and a number of random clips from through out the last few months. Be patient if they don’t pop up right away, I didn’t make them as small as I probably should have. They’ll start eventually!
Speaking of Tori Amos, that was an interesting experience. We drove about out west about ninety miles to Lawrence, Kansas to see her. The concert was at the Leid Center on the University of Kansas campus. Now, I always prepare myself for some sort of weirdness when I go on a college campus. Students are young and can’t help themselves and that’s to be expected. However, I was somewhat surprised when I got out of the car and saw some dude go running by with a life vest and a boat paddle in his hands. I’m not sure what exactly he was up to, but I believe he was there to run off the protesters from the Westboro Baptist Church who had set up a picket line outside the concert. Yes, that Westboro Church, the same one that believes 9/11 and the Iraq War are punishment from God on the United States for our acceptance of homosexuality. The same one who made headlines awhile back for picketing at the funerals of soldiers killed overseas saying their death was a great blessing from the Lord. Lovely chaps. In any case they were gone by the time we got up there so the boat paddle must have worked. It was a really good concert, despite being told the seats I bought were not actually the seats I bought and being shuffled off into the back of the theater. I tried my best to get a few pictures. Unfortunately we were so far back that it’s hard to make much out. Here’s what we managed to get.
In other news I’m thinking about going back to college. It’s been nearly ten years and it’s about time I started doing something with myself again. Might as well seize on the incentive while it lasts.
